buckets, buckets, who's got the buckets...

OK, reached a point of no return
cams and buckets are out, according to the spreadsheet attached (I've modified it a bit so there's a "metric" page) I need 1 x 2.85 and 1 x 2.95.
Anyone around Oz got and want to sell/part with... ?
Otherwise I visit the stealers...

Oh, and anything else I should be looking at while I'm in here....??

Chris I found the spark plug cables showed signs of rubbing or arching I wrapped some electrical tape around the spots and a good time to change the plugs if there needed, also I found I couldn't get one of the the sprockets back on, the guide can move a little just enough to stop them lining up, you will need a long screwdriver to push the guide down that will give the chain a little bit of slack to get the sprocket on

Re: buckets, buckets, who's got the buckets...

checked the leads, all look good thx Linton.
Plugs were last changed at 98k (100k service), 106k now.
#2 looked great colour... 1 & 3 slightly oily, #4 all clogged up and horrible.
I've cleaned 1, 2 & 3 and put them back in, then pulled out the old #2 from 98k service change which also still looked very clean, and put that into #4. Should be good till the next service I hope.

Long screwdriver... watched Kirk do that on his video to get the chain back... did it while installing the drill bit and felt the drill "pop" into place. Good tip for putting them back! cheers.

BTW, loving the lift...

Re: buckets, buckets, who's got the buckets...

Bucket (cam follower) parts here from stealers.. about $40-$41 each, US price $22.31 (or Au$25).
At least they aren't getting the service $$$ anymore... sheesh.

And cudo's to Linton for shipping me his spare 2.90's... I'll use one of them and have a spare, since I'm going for a slighter better clearance than I first thought.

Re: buckets, buckets, who's got the buckets...

Linton, the 2.90's arrived... many thanks, as I'm going to need one!
I adjusted the 3 that appeared to be out (bought 2, swapped across 1) put everything back together and torqued up, turned the cams over a few times bumping the back wheel, then re-measured.
Everything reads a little tighter than expected, and a little tighter than it was initially, and now I have to adjust 2 more of the intake valves which is where the 2.90 will help out.
Wonder if the torque settings were off a little before, or if my torque wrench just reads differently (could well be).
Anyway, hope I can get it all back together next weekend.

Re: buckets, buckets, who's got the buckets...

I am sure you will get it right, looser is better than tight btw, you don't want any tight ones.
my number 4 plug was the dirty one as well, maybe that's where the oil goes when its on the side. Most times I have to ride a couple of K's out the road before going back into town, it's bloody embarrassing sometimes
