Question It's Happened...

Hi All,
Has anyone in Oz had the dreaded ABS module failure lately? My GS-911 comes up with a different fault code after each bleed, the fault cleared once until I used the pumps to bleed the rear brake and hasn't cleared since.
The random fault codes make me think the problem is electronic.
I live in the mid-north coast of Queensland, so no handy dealerships, and I'm bleeding without any of the trick tools.

There was a post somewhere that said BMW in the states has dropped their price to a grand US..........I'd tip that's not the case here.

I would be glad to hear of anyone's experiences getting this problem sorted

Re: It's Happened...

Hi Rod, can't recall off the top of my head anyone reporting it... but then I do have a bit of a short-term memory :-)
When you say you are "bleeding without any of the trick tools", what precisely are you doing?
Pretty sure your 2002 ABS is slightly different to mine (2005) so can't comment on correct procedure there apart from basics - having done it a whole once myself, though I'm sure you've already researched the relevant posts/tech articles etc...

What errors codes is the GS911 reporting?
I've just gotten mine recently and still trying to figure it all out...

Re: It's Happened...

Hi Chris,
Yes, I'm following the posts of more experienced people bleeding the thing. I first got "pressure in front cc't too high", which later changed to the rear circuit, which later became faulty pressure sensor in one or the other cc't.
The pressure sensors are digital load cells right in the very bottom of the housing, so if any moisture does get into the system, it's a safe bet they will be the first component to die.
