Re: 2014 R1200RT release date ?
Have had mine for about three weeks now. Ebony metallic, fully loaded, waiting for the LED auxiliary lights (near the cylinder heads) and the BMW cylinder head protectors.
Due to crappy weather, I have not had the opportunity to get the 1000km on the clock, so that I can get the 1st service done and "really" open her up.
All the ones at the moment (or at least the 1st shipment) have come with a standard seat. Note that the bike is lower then the previous R1200RT, so now a lot more suitable for shorter riders.
The low and high seat can be ordered at no additional costs, but then you will have to order the bike specifically and it will take 2~3 months for delivery.
At this stage, all the bikes at the dealers here are "standard" seats.
The new Wethead RT is far more focused towards performance and a sporty ride then its predecessors and has heavily improved on low speed riding as the gearing has been lowered, at least compared to my old 2005 1200RT.
There are tons of improvements that make it the next evolutionary step, rather then another "update".
