Sydney Motorcycle Show, Nov 15-17

...and 2 weeks after we get back from Snowy Ride, the Sydney Motorcycle Show is on at Darling Harbour Convention Centre.
What a great month!

Park your bike at the Centre car park - $12 for the day.
$20 admission, but Ulysses Members can get $2 off with promo code 'Ulysses'... although if you have something says you are a "Senior" you get in for $14... what a scam you oldies have got.

Re: Sydney Motorcycle Show, Nov 15-17

Might be a good idea to go during the day this time. We went at night last time and found 2 hours wasn't enough to see everything, also I'm hoping to pick up a new comms unit(s) as show specials.

Not old enough for seniors card (yet) so I will go with Ulysses discount

Re: Sydney Motorcycle Show, Nov 15-17

HI all,
Went along today to the show today. Day one it was fairly busy but room enough to get around.

I went with the intention of getting a new High Vis jacket and some Kevlar jeans. Was able to find them both at Aus$99.00 each. Very happy. Looked at some helmets but they did not fit well enough to purchase.

Saw some very interesting items in there, but I knew I had to high tail it out before I lightened the wallet to the point that the SO would get antsy. If I want to spend more next time I would need to take her along.

Re: Sydney Motorcycle Show, Nov 15-17

Hi Brian, we went tonight too, 6-8pm, It was long enough unless you really want to sit on every bike and drool over them,
Greg, didn't notice any Comms guys there, usually Dave from BlueRim is there with Autocom stuff, but didn't see him. I think there is supposed to be the guy from Newcastle there somewhere that makes his own stuff IIRC.
Sat on a few bikes... didn't think much of the K1600, preferred GT to GTL. Kerry sat on back of GTL for 2 secs and said it was enough.
Liked the Tiger for seating position, but dont like larger front wheel.
Like the Norge again this year, very comfortable position for me, would love to take one for a ride.
Sat on the new Indian, really comfy seat, but big twins are not for me.
There's a very pretty Hyabusa 1400? there.... too pretty to ride.

The LT is staying for another 100k, I hope.

Re: Sydney Motorcycle Show, Nov 15-17

I was there yesterday manning the Ulysses stand for a few hours.
I met up with a few of my friends from PITS afterwards and cruised the stands. They were happy to point out the new Yamaha triple (nice engine, not good suspension). I'd seen the Indians before so I gave them a miss. The new Harley Ultra Classic was interesting with the radiators in the leg shields(?). Triumph Thunderbird LT looked very comfy. BMW Nine T failed to impress but I think it was its positioning (next to an R1200R).
Chris you need to take a K1600 for a ride, it's the motor that is impressive and you're right, there wasn't any comms specialists around
$12 for parking all day was good value!
