Garmin 550 Mounting Bracket

Hi all,
Just putting out some feelers to see if someone has an unwanted Garmin Zumo 550 Mounting Bracket? I am in need of one as some knucklehead tried to remove the unit whilst attached and damaged a couple of the contact pins.

Part number 010-10859-00

Is this is unsuccessful I will just order one from the states.

Re: Garmin 550 Mounting Bracket

I have one that you can have, not sure if shipping to Australia would be more than buying a new one.

Let me know, email in profile

Re: Garmin 550 Mounting Bracket

Hi Chris,
Not guilty, I parked the bike in an outer western suburb carpark, in a high vis area, only to return and see the unit had been tampered with. The end result was that a couple of the pins were bent and eventually fatigued to the point of breaking.
I like the unit and see no point in replacing it if I can repair. I can buy a new unit from the US, but thought that someone, preferably locally, had upgraded and kept the mounting bracket.

Pete has kindly offered his, but will wait until after the weekend to see if others chime in closer to home.

Re: Garmin 550 Mounting Bracket

Paul,
Yes I received your PM. Thanks. I just found the "Johhny Applseed can get one for you" a bit cryptic until you sent the PM.

I was thinking some caped crusader was going to miraculously make one appear.

For everyone else, Johhny Applseed is a retailer.

We have an outlet in Sydney so will contact them. Thanks for your help.

Re: Garmin 550 Mounting Bracket

I didn't comment on "Johnny Appleseed" since I've always found their prices pretty high when doing a $$ comparison.
When I have bought GPS stuff I usually wind up getting it from Ryda.com out on Parramatta Rd at Petersham. Pretty much been the best prices for quite some time, unless you go grey-imports through fleabay.

Check shopbot ... Ryda is about $20 cheaper than little JohnnyA

Re: Garmin 550 Mounting Bracket

Why would a retailer in Australia call itself Johnny Appleseed? I thought that was an American folk tale...

I guess they are in a strip mall next to Paul Bunyon car stereo, Davey Crockett Dollar Store and Casey Jones' discount tattoo.

I was wondering the same thing, there was a real Johnny Appleseed (aka John Chapman) maybe there is a family connection.
