Re: yeah, it was hot...

Chris,
This sounds like the beginning of a tyre thread. Did you have your "sticky" tyres on or the harder compound for the journey.
Did you make sure they were warm before you got stuck into the twisties on the way home.

Re: yeah, it was hot...

I'd swear someone had my heated grips turned on for half an hour before I got on the bike!
Knowing it'd be really hot, I took my neck wet-wraps to work so I could soak them before the 25 min trip home... needed them too!
Really appreciated the new helmet with the full flip-back chin piece.... all that extra air, as hot as it was, was still a blessing.
Cool change expected about 2am, thank heaven.
It was hotter out my way near the airport than the rest of Sydney.... very weird!

Hope you're holding up well, Brian!

Re: yeah, it was hot...

Chris,
Just to give an indication of how hot it was today, I add an insert from our local news link. This is for those not familiar, a favorite road to exit Sydney heading west over the Blue Mountains.

It was so hot in Sydney's northwest that a 20km section of Bells Line of Road started to melt, with authorities cutting the speed limit to 60km/h because of safety fears.

I rode from Rhodes to Concord, less than 2km, and my bike was reading 45.5 when I got Home at 3.15pm.
