Cool "WHAT"..only 202,580kms outta a set of wheel bearings

Sooooooo whilst Beryl was in getting her new shoes fitted, the Motohansa account manager (Geoff) said that the front wheel bearings were stuffed....

"huh"???? how can that be so, Beryl only has 202,580kms on the clock, (maybe a 1000kms or so not registered due to rear wheel sensor cable break for a month)...

One sticks their finger into the inner race of the bearing and tries to move the bearing...both are solid...

"huh".....

the bearings can't be physically seized cos I just rode in the pouring rain...again....from Eastern Creek (work) to home, to remove the wheels...anyway I had been thinking about changing them maybe Beryl's ESP has been getting through....

"Got any wheel bearings"

"yes" can do now...

Brilliant Motohansa....

So, for those that are out there and contemplating changing the wheel bearings, one side is the common garden variety 6204, 14mm x 47mm OD x 20mm ID and priced around the $A18 mark...

whilst the other is a 3204B at 20.5mm x 47mm OD x 20mm ID priced at $A118.

Maybe you can source from a bearing supplier before the need gets "That important"...the alternative could be that the bearing seizes and then spins in the wheel housing = kaput wheel.

huh?? why should one side be different than the other??

Labour to change the bearings 1/2 hour, charged $A50.

Good, nah, Great service Motohansa, I'll be back, ......with my mates...

Also bought an oil filter "Mahle"...haven't heard of this make before, $A26 an oil filter.

Didn't bother changing the rear wheel bearings as they felt ok, and the mechanic said they would last very much longer...

Very pleased with Motohansa service, and costs, very reasonable given the hassle of a Wednesday late afternoon fix (didn't get there til 15:00hrs or so..)

cheers

I replaced my front brgs at 70,000k they were notchy just went back through my records I fitted non genuine, I used to clean the bike with a pressure wash think that was the contributing factor. Good price on the tyres I know they are going to cost more here.
