Cool Beryl Beemer's 11th set of shoes

Hi Guys,

This frigging rain is getting to be a right royal PITA every day......

ok, needed to take 1/2 day last Wednesday as booked in to Motohansa for Beryl to get her 11th pair of shoes fitted.

I have been riding around for about the last 4 months with one of those really sharp bugle headed screws well and truly embedded in the rear...no great hassle, it had gone in at 90 deg, and they are good fixings,...so no probs, rode around for a couple of days and the head wore off..

Geeezzz the ride gets really shabby with tyres at the end of the their life cycle.

Ordered a couple of the old faithful ME880's, around $570 a set, but if I bring in the wheels then will do for $500/set...hmmmm looking back at my records this is the same price as 4 years ago...good value Motohansa

and how do I know that this is Beryl's 11th pair of shoes you may ask??? (I knew someone would ask)

the tyres that came with Beryl were the ultra soft radial Excedras, from memory. they lasted 10,640kms....this must be the worst kms I have ever had outta a set of tyres...

Km's of all sets of tyres have been:

Excedras 0000000 to 10,640kms
Metz Z4 10,640kms to 22,881kms
ME880 rear 22,881kms to 40,701kms
rear ME880 40,701kms to 60,200kms
front ME880 22,881kms to 45,361kms
Mich Mach 50 45361kms to 60,200kms
ME 880's 60,200kms to 78,917kms
ME 880's 78,917kms to 99,404kms
ME 880 rear 99,404kms to 116,270kms (punctured, side wall failed too hot)
ME 880 front 99,404kms to 125,683kms
Metz Lasertec front 125,683kms to 141,226kms (No ME 880 in stock)
ME 880 rear missed data somewhere to 147,250kms
ME 880's 147,250kms to 168,267kms
ME 880's 168,267kms to 185,750kms
ME 880's 185,750kms to 202,580kms

Dont ever bother using those front Lasertec tyres on the LT....the bike will not go around corners if you do....hopeless on this bike... but maybe just better than running on the rim.

cheer

"Cos I am such a nice guy" Motohansa actually sold me the pair of "shoes" , fitted, static balanced plus valve change, for $A500 which includes 10% GST, so without the GST the shoes were about $A455.

The Oz $$ is pretty strong at the mo in comparison to $USA, being about $A1 = $US1.02 so you would need to spend just that little bit more. Four years ago when I got a similar pair of shoes, (same colour) for Beryl at the same price maybe the $A was only about maybe $US 0.85 or so.

how nice a ride with new shoes........maybe I should change them at only 10,000kms....??

cheers
