Cool Beryl Beemer's 1st $A30+ fuel fill up

Like night follows day, it is just another one of those things that you can guarantee is gonna happen...
Beryl Beemer's first fuel refill that exceeded the $A30 mark..... $31:14 in fact.

I vaguely remember when Beryl exceeded the $A20 and here we are pressing forward through another pioneering milestone...hmmmm wonder how many crotch rocket pilots get to spend more than $A30 on a fuel refill??

The fuel warning light had been on for a day or two but only nipping back an forth to the tennis courts and such like...at refill, 368kms on the clock.

20.5litres of fuel was dumped into Beryl's innards, so I had say another 3 litres still there sloshing around....the fuel guage was now starting to get into the red zone....

Given that Beryl is mostly doing the commute trip to work, I am probaly getting the 6 litres/100km...so say 50kms left in the tank...(418km cant be bad doing commute work). (just changed Beryl's battery so BC setting got zapped off)

$A1.519 per litre for the 98octane stuff....yeah I know I dont need to put the 98 stuff in Beryl but you gotta treat the oldies to a bit of luxury, and as Beryl is creeping up toward the 200,000kms, heyyy why not?

Probably Chris has already exceeded this $30 barrier when he was being gouged on his trip???

cheers

well & truly!
It's still quite satisfying though.... when the big 4WD next to you is paying $120 or so for a fill-up..... and they can't lane-split...

$30 pfft... why do you think I bought another bike?
My black car has an 88 litre tank and only takes 98 that is why it always has the fuel light on.
V8s love the go juice!

Oh, the answer to the first question: Kate let me!

Re: Beryl Beemer's 1st $A30+ fuel fill up

Yes Phil, I always use 98 whenever I can get it (BP, Caltex) here in Tassie, no Shell 98 product. It runs around $1.64/litre here, so the $30 barrier is easily exceeded. I look at it this way - you can have a lot of fun for $30, and it is the best fuel, which also gives more mpg than the 95 because I tested it previously on my K100RT and consistently achieved 30 to 40 more K's per tank, so the extra cost is offset be the extra K's as well as making the engine sweeter.

Our options up here are 98 or Opal. That's the non-sniffable petrol. $1.72 a litre for 98. How many of you are going to AGM at Mildura? We will be on the info booth for Alice Springs 2014. Stop in and say hello.
