Metzeler ME880 info please

Can any of you mainlanders please provide me with a ball park figure for costs on the Metzeler ME880's for my '05 K12 please. I am intending to change from the Bridgestone 020's currently fitted and am wary of the prices here in Tassie. Regards, Dennis

Re: Metzeler ME880 info please

heh, heh.... I think Dennis means mainland Australia.... but best of intentions!

Dennis, I put 2 new tyres (always Metz) on the LT a few months before leaving on my trip, fitted and balanced at Procycles:
Front: ME 880 120/70VB17 $199.10
Rear: ME 880 160/70VB17 $268.19

In Perth I bought a new rear, it was about $270, then paid another $140 to get it fitted in Karratha...

In Brisbane I bought a new rear at Coastline BMW, $240 fitted!

Looks like Qld is the best place to buy & fit tyres for the LT...

Damn Chris thats a top price think I might ride up there for my next tyre. I took my front wheel off and carried it in to the shop and I still paid $240.00

Re: Metzeler ME880 info please

Yeah, I'm not sure they didn't discount it for me in Qld because the tyre wasn't in when it was supposed to be in the morning, and I had to hang around for 5+ hours for the damn courier to drop it off....
The way our dollar is, it might be worth looking into shipping from the US and install here... one of the guys at my work did with some sport tyres, saved at least $100 I think...

Re: Metzeler ME880 info please

Thanks guys, I'm currently obtaining some prices, and yes, I did mean mainland OZ (north island).
As an aside, I did some inquiries regarding NGK Iridium spark plugs to suit the '05 K12. I was quoted $19 each in Devonport, $15.50 each in Victoria plus $10 postage, and wait for it,......... $7.83AU each from the US (Monarch Products Inc) plus $18.95 postage ! This is absurd when you need to get spark plugs from the other side of the planet to get a reasonable price, but if that's the way Oz retailers want it, well we all know where this will end up. The world is a small place these days.

I had to replace my rear as it had worn flat in the middle and was the wrong tyre, BT21 160/60 x 17

Price for the correct Metz from a couple of stores in Sydney.
MCAS, $270 free fitting off bike
Procycles Hornsby (local to me), $295 free fitting (charged $299 Typical!)
