Cool Beryl Beemer gets new tyres, front pads and spark plugs

Took last Tuesday off from work, tennis day....bugger, rained all day.....typical pommy day that I thought I was immune from....
ok...had booked in for two new tyres, take em the wheels, fit and balance whilst you wait, free coffee, this month's Cycle torque magazine to read and keep.....

Got new front and rear Metzler ME880 Marathon tyres as I get 20,000kms outta these. The rear was probably just under legal, whilst the front still has some reasonable tread, but change em as a pair anyway...

getting what I think is a fair deal from the dealer:

Metzeler front tyre ME880 RRP $254 sold for $203.64 x1
Metzeler rear 160/70VB17 RRP $314 sold for $258.18 x1
Changed tyre valves RRP $5.01ea sold for $4.55ea x2
Bendix disc pads front RRP $53.8 sold for $48.91 x2
Spark plugs Bosch XR7 RRP $13.67ea sold for $12.43 x4

Total invoice $618.46 plus GST 10% of $61.84 =$680.30

Dealer is Motohansa, at Rydalmere, fairly close to me, ph 9638 4488, Jeff or Tony

Hope this helps .....

cheers

Re: Beryl Beemer gets new tyres, front pads and spark plugs

Hey Phil, nice timing!
I'm up for a new front too, will check with the stealer as to what they'll hit me for 'cause I gotta get the 60k-km service done too.... might get to save a few bob if Motohansa works out reasonably cheaper.. trouble for me is I can't whip the wheels off and take them... very hard to ride the LT without them..

cheers mate

Hi Chris,
Give em a ring, even on the 60k-km service. I phoned up on the Monday, and luckily they had a set on the rack....just waiting ....again good timing for me...dunno how many sets they will keep on hand though. Think they charge an extra $30 or so to pull yer wheels off. $30 better off in my pocket than theirs. You can always park 20m down the road, whip the wheels off and then lug em into the shop....BTDT before with Procycles Hornsby.
Dont forget to mention my name of course as a ref (especially as you know the prices...)....every bit of grease helps....

cheers

Re: Beryl Beemer gets new tyres, front pads and spark plugs

Is that your conversion of our rate Hoss, or what you paid for similar?
If its a conversion you're way off, we're back down to about US0.82 to AU$1 at the moment.... I can't imagine anything to do with the LT costing more in the US than it does here.. we usually pay near double.....

I just grabbed the first conversion from goggle. god help us all if it was that much. I do my own service, from beemerbonyard $-150 US, just put a set of storms on $115 us- (Front) had the rear when It was on sale, $130US. Spark plugs get changed every blue moon!

EDIT: I saw wales and used the Euro...Oops
