Cool Beryl Beemer completes Paris Dakar

G'day,

Paris Dakar seems about right for all the dust and crap floating around this morning. Nahhhhhhh not the REAL Paris Dakar, just the 20kms ride into work this morning. Beryl is in dire need of a good bubble bath.

Pix taken when setting off to work at 07:00 this morning. Dust storm blew up over night, (got a phone call at 05:00 to say that the fire detectors had activated within the roof plantroom at work)....
Due to the dryness of the lands out west, and the gusty winds, has resulted in this dust storm never seen to this extent before in Sydney.

Actually, my Mum did say that she had seen one before in Sydney, it was during the War, 1942 I think she said. Her memory was that it was very similar in intensity. She was working at the Mitchell Library at the time.

Holy smokes, Phill... you let your missus outside with a good camera in that red haze?
You can see the damage being done to the lens by the third photo....
and that colour its left Beryl !!!!

Must say I waited until about 9am before I left home, and wore a dust mask under the helmet... that crap was intense.
