Smile Time for a Change

G'day Everyone,

Well I am once again having a mid life crisis. I have traded my beloved LT and will now be riding a Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport. After much deliberation and many months of anguish we finally decided on the the change.
I wanted to go back to a basic style of motorcycling. Cannot afford to have two bikes so now I am a Guzzi Owner. I have been riding for over 34 years and the last 20 have been on BMW's. My passion is still for the BMW as well but it was logical to go to a Guzzi for some basic reasons The R1200R has a poor seat area for the pillion, The GS was really not suited to our needs and the 1100s is no longer in production and finally I was also surprised that the BMW dealer (salesperson)was not interested in a trade in, sad when you deal with the one dealer for so many years.

Moto Guzzi has come a long way, I am certainly impressed by the finnish. The ride is great and well I am ecstatic.

I have some bits that may interest members as follows

Workshop manual
3 x Screens different sizes
Oil Filters etc.

If anyone is interested either send me an email or ring me on 0428 311205.

It's not the bike you ride its doing the ride that matters.
Everyone take care out their. It has been a pleasure and hopefully we may all one day meet up.

Re: Time for a Change

Hey Jake... enjoy!

I remember sitting on a Norge at the Sydney Bike Show 2 years and thinking how damn comfortable it felt, for seat, position, everything, and thinking what a great 2nd bike it would make (if I could stand the twin).
Never got to ride one though. Hope it's everything you need right now... maybe you'll be able to trade back up to the "new" LT, whatever that might be, when your ready in a few years, eh!

Post a few picks and let us know what it's like to ride.

best for your new year, and ride!

G'day Everyone,

Thought I would drop by and say hello, My new Moto Guzzi is brilliant, although I have not been riding much until this week as I have been busy since Black Saturday.

I am having a few little issues getting use to the handling after my LT. An LT she ain't but certainly has a character all of her own. The finish has certainly surprised me a little as it is very much comparable to a BMW. Am I pleased about the change - yep. Its interesting going back to a basic motorcyle after the LT, The handling of the LT was brilliant and its braking is probably the best in the business. I am now learning to ride without ABS and integrated brakes.

My bike has gone to a happy home near Bairnsdale.
Ian if you are about Happy to catch up for a ride. I guess you would have been busy also since Black Saturday, need to get some normality back in life.

To everyone, This is a brilliant site and a lot of great people. Take care out their ride safe and enjoy today.

G'day Jake,
Sorry for the tardy response mate, but back from the fires now and as you pointed out, trying to get back to some normality... It was a tough gig up there and one that I hope never is repeated...

Mate...would LOVE to catch up for a ride with you and see that machine of yours...given the absence of photos, some are doubting that it actually exists...
