Quick Intro

Hello there.

I have been on the site since 2000 and still have my 2000 Canyon Red LT. I have posted here a few times on the APAC Regional Board and just wanted to let you know the LT is on the boat approaching Dunedin right now. She has fair few km on her now, but she seems to want more. The Auckland BMW Dealer is already looking forward to a grand year in the service department!

We are certainly planning on exploring NZ on the LT (probably take at least 3 days per Island...don't be cheeky Ralph) and getting used to 300km days.

I am not big on the mechanical stuff, but if any of you want to travel to the US for a driving or riding holiday I think I can give some useful advice...anyway, happy to help if you want lots or a little info on US/Canada travel.

Being an Australian living in NZ, I get a bit lonely here sometimes. I well remember the first Bledisloe Cup game I went to in Auckland 20+ years ago....as Michael Lynagh went over for the try I leapt to my feet cheering, only to realize I was the sole figure standing in the North Stand which held 7,000+ dead-eyed, silent AB fanatics, all staring at me. Anyway, we'd welcome contact with any of youse guys travelling this way. I know there are at least two other LT's in NZ, in fact I rode with a couple on an LT years ago and I look forward to swelling the ranks so we are a mighty force of at least three. Please contact me if you have a mo.

After 11 years in America, my unsolicited advice.....do whatever you can to spend 2-3 weeks on a riding holiday in America. Its like nothing you will have experienced. Centre the trip around a CCR, (in the wonderful Black Hills next year) and it will be the experience of a lifetime. There again, they say NZ is the undiscovered king of biking locations....I'll let you know before you come over.

but I left my biking heart along the Scenic Byways of America.....

Re: Quick Intro

Welcome back south, Ralph... you've nearly made it home!
I'll be in NZ but just for a couple of days for work around 1 Dec, in Wellington. No time for riding unfortunately.

Didn't you have a dust-up recently, if I recall reading correctly? Guess all is fixed (bike and self?)

Have great time in NZ... sounds like its a "permanent" move?

regards
Chris
