Re: Off to Tassie

Ahh Tassie, with roads designed by a motorcyclist. Have a safe trip down there and back Linton, I'm jealous. One day I'll make it down there....

Re: Off to Tassie

Hey Axle, have a great time on those windy (not windy, wine-dee) roads.
Make sure you do the run up Mt Wellington, if its open.... its quite a ride!
There was a little snow on top when we went up there a couple of years back...

Must sees that I remember... everywhere!
Freycinet is lovely, Port Arthur is a must, Cradle Mountain (unless it gets snowed in, like we had, although that was fun too).
The run down the side of the Tamar river (the roads that run next to the river, rather than the main highway).
The A3 - the road that winds up the through the mountains from the NE coast back toward Launceston.

If you're interested, there are some pics from our trip here to wet your appetite

Be ready for all 4 seasons! Take spare gloves and plenty of good wet gear.
enjoy!

Chris

Re: Off to Tassie

Better to be safe than unsure mate.
One thing I just remembered, on the Tas boat they have no idea about, and aren't prepared for, correctly tying down LT's.
They will likely make you put it on the sidestand and tie down the handle bars which is what they do for other bikes.
I wasn't happy with this, but had no choice.
Luckily we had a very smooth trip both there and back, no crashing waves in the Tasman.....
good luck with it!
