Thumbs up Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

Hey guys,
Not too many of these here in Australia...but this one has to go.

Ever since I fitted it to the bike, the Mrs hasn't been happy as I have "excluded" her from riding (not that she is riding now being 7 mths gone anyway...but it's women's psychology).

So I converted the bike back to two seats and she has been happy ever since.

This one is silver in colour and it looked great on my graphite. It could easily been sprayed to match any bike.

Comes complete with a metal rack fitted (with rear brake-light on the rack) and a glowing BMW badge on the rear.

I privately imported this one from a member of this site from the USA. Cost me a fortune to get it here too...

They can been see here at the Corbin site http://www.corbin.com/bmw/k1200lt_smug.shtml

I will post some pictures when I get around to taking some...

Make me an offer via PM...

cheers all,

Ian

Re: Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

I love the look of the Smuggler and I don't have to worry about any complaints from the wife as she doesn't care to ride. It's just me and LT (and the boys). But I would like to know how easy or difficult it is on a scale of 0 - 10 (ten as extremely difficult). I do a lot of overnight, long distance riding, I wouldn't use it then, but when going 300 miles for the day, the Corbin Smuggler seems like the way to work with the LT's center of gravity.
I'm interested depending on how easy it is to switch back and forth.
What are you asking...almost forgot that important detail?

The answer to this is VERY easy. To swap you simply remove the insert in your topbox, remove the four bolts that holds it on and the rear seat (2 bolts), disconnect the two or three audio wires (twist connects), remove the top box and replace with the smuggler. Put the four topbox bolts back in and bobs your uncle...about a 10 minute job.

If you want the brake light on the smuggler rack to work, you will simply run a quick connect off your brake that can be disconnected and reconnected easily...

Cheers,

Ian

Re: Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

More interested than ever. Got rear-ended a couple of weeks ago on my 2005 LT. I'm booked for some repairs and I'd like to switch to the Smuggler. What's the shipping charge if it doesn't go FedEx? Big stuff moves around the world all day every day.
I saw one Smuggler that sold used for $450. Are you looking for a similar amount, plus shipping?
I'm interested. All the minuses don't impress me. I love to ride and if the Smuggler improves my intensive riding, all the better.
I'm ready to talk turkey. Too bad one of the Australian Open blokes couldn't carry it back fro me. But I'm still interested.

Regards,
Robert

Re: Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

Hi guys,
Was taking a wander through my garage over the weekend and realised that I've still got this Smuggler sitting there wanting a new home...

I've listed it on good 'ol eBay with a BIN $499 if anyone is interested?

You could ride over (minus your topbox) and I could help you fit it... ;-)

cheers,

Ian

Re: Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

I'd love to have it. Of course no wife to worry about "excluding" LOL. But like you said, shipping to the US is probably outrageous. Good luck!

Re: Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

Hi Nick
Not sure if you're interested but I do have one. Also a full top box and handlebar risers.
Was just planning on floating it on ebay when I saw this.

Re: Corbin 'Smuggler' for sale!

Dam it!

Have just put the bike on Bikepoint as l can't warrant having it for lack of use - lack of interest from the better half. Ta heaps for the offer anyway.
