Motorrad BMW/ Garmin Nav 2

Just a wee note of advise.
Whilst in transit to the Coffs Ulysses AGM I went to move the map face with my gloved finger.
From the GPS face came a slither of very thin lense cover.
On arrival I checked the face and all had been removed. Our local BMW dealer has refused to support my warranty claim although I'd had the unit in to them on two visits, one six months after purchasing the unit from new (original asking price of $3800. but paying after much negotiation $2600.) and then again about three or so months further on. Both visits were to complain about moisture behind the so called water proof screen.
So if you own a NAV 2 make sure all challenges are reported.
I've been supplied with a very second hand unit, with no warranty on the second unit.
I'll advise on the outcome when the dust settles.
But for forum members, please watch your units and if there's any dought about the performance go to your dealer ASAP. One other thing to keep in mind was that with the new version Nav 3 they supply a lense cover which wasn't available as an item when the Nav 2 came out. If you currently own a Nav 2 the lense cover would be a cheap insurance against failure.
