Why no Comms system on Aussie LTs

Hi,

Does anyone know why the AUS spec 07 LTSE doesn't come with the comms unit installed. My dealer didn't even offer it as an extra, something about it not being very good?

More research

Hi Brendan
It would seem that the voice 2 system is a extra, and most likely ordered when you choose a bike or unless like procycles they order it already on the bike

The Canadian / European model LT's do not include the intercom for 2007. It seems from talking to my dealer that on all models other than US 07's the intercom is not standard. Something about BMW going to a wireless intercom but no date has been released. I added an AutoComm system to my 07 also the Baer unit gets very high marks here on the board.

Garage
aftermarket?

Hi Brendan.
Aftermarket systems are OK, Autocom or Baehr are available and have good reputations. I've used the most basic Autocom for 3-4 years now (mono rather than stereo) but still have bike music, phone & gps voice connectivity, along with rider/pillion communication. Wouldn't be without it now.
The local supplier of Autocom kit is Dave (?) from Bluerim.

You can (or used to be able to) buy direct from him, or go through the dealer network (bike shops), but Dave is very helpful with setup.
