Ulysses AGM

Gentlemen,

The Ulysses AGM in beautiful Coffs Harbour is now only a few weeks away.... Any other Aussies that hang around this forum going?

I'm planning to camp at Emerald Beach on Saturday and Sunday preceding registration and move into the AGM camping site on the Monday, and then departing on Sunday heading for the Mountains.

Hope to see you there.....

Hi Daza,
Good to hear from some fellow Aussies..
I will be doing a couple of day trips to 'Coffs' (Friday & Saturday) for the AGM.
I have the luxury of it only being a couple of hours each way for me, would certainly like to take the opportunity to do the catch up thing with you (and others) during our visit..
'Till later,
Col

Hi Col,

Look forward to catching up... I spend three weeks every Christmas camping just down the road from you on the beach at Brunswick Heads, staying in the Terrace Park next to the walk bridge. Been there every Christmas of my life (literally)

Catch you, and hopefully a few others that contribute to this site soon,

Daz

My mob, the Central Coast Riders, will be there. A group of us are going to be staying overnight at Macksville on Sunday, ready for the hard slog up the road to Coffs on the Monday AM to register and grab some camping spots at the show ground. Really looking forward to this AGM . Be good to catch up with some fellow LT'ers.

Trying (or should I say "hoping") to get away with Beryl Beemer and wife device for a couple of days. We'll probably stop at Port Macquarie a night or two and a night at Coffs somewhere in a motel, seeing as it is just down the road a couple of hours. (Wife device not a camper type, unless it is in a 6 berth motorhome or similar)....hehehehh.

my mobile is 0427 451 962.

Have a mate from Rocky riding down on his LT / trailer and his wife device will either be riding his 1000cc Raptor or her 600 cagiva.....hmmmmmm maybe something to do with the way of living up there I suppose.....must be hard to take having only one road in and one road out to look at the scenary.....

cheers

Just how old do you have to be to join the Ulysses?

I don't think 'us' young blokes are yet eligible...

I'm toying with the idea of riding up on the last Saturday, stay (camp?) overnight somewhere, then head back Sunday, just to see what all the fuss is about. Can't afford more time off work at the moment (than I'm taking now ).
Also don't like the idea of having to help all you "seniors" on and off your bikes all week!

I have phone numbers for a few of you, so if I make it up there expect a call!

Have a great time either way, guys!

Chris,

If you haven't been to one you've been missing out on some fun, although I doubt you'll get the full feel of the mateship etc. in a few hours on the last day, it's worth the ride though, just to take a look.

Pity you can't get there for the parade Saturday morning, it's great seeing 5000 bikes all riding through town together.

Daz, you make it sound like its worth getting up nice and early to cruise on up. What do you reckon, its about 6hrs from Sydney isn't it? A 5am start should have me there around 11am, what time is the mass ride?

Yep, about a 6 hour run.

The parade starts at 9am Saturday morning, with the pre-ride muster from 7:30 on. The parade is followed by the official public part of the AGM with the welcoming by the mayor, the give away of the motorbikes to a couple of lucky blokes who attend the AGM and the naming and award of a bike to the "motorcycle apprentice of the year".

Gidday Daza,
Read your article today at work, here in Perth.
We've eight from our small branch travelling to the AGM from over here.
Bully my mate has a 2000model and I've a 2005model, I'm staying at the Park Beach Cabins and he's staying just down the road.
We're all really looking forward to the trip over through Broken Hill spending a day at Tamworth and then onto the AGM for the 20.05.07 Leaving heading south to Newcastle and then up to Bathurst and across the Hay Plain. Round trip of just under 10,000k's.
This is a fantastic forum and have gained a great deal from it.
Enough of the rabbiting on, hope to run into you at Coffs.
Regards,
Bruce

I'm getting more enthusiastic about this little ride up the coast. Gonna see if I can get Friday 27th off to travel up, and camp over for Friday/Sat nights.

Anyone got any set plans to meet up over the weekend at all yet?

cheers

Guys,

Great to see some LTs heading for the coast. I've pulled the mobile numbers together below, feel free to add to the list -

Col 0418 578 048
Chris 0418 411 499
Big Dog 0417 267 449
Phil 0427 451 962
Daz 0412 198 256

Maybe we could get together for a meet on Saturday afternoon after the parade and the Official Opening, say 3:30? That would give those that are arriving just for the weekend time to take in the AGM site first, check out the bikes and vendors etc and get the feel of the place....

If this is OK with all I'll find a place where we can meet in Coffs outside the AGM site so we can park a few LTs in a line.

Any suggestions?

Daz

Have been known to stop at McMacca's Cafe Express on the way through Coffs a few times..., not that I'll touch their food much though! Perhaps something a litle more tasteful befitting out LT's would be nice... (no, no... not the Big Banana!!! )

Thumbs up Very jealous!

Hey guys,
I am extremely jealous of you all as I would dearly have loved to have travelled north to meet with you... Unfortunately work has me off to NZ this weekend and I'm going take advantage of the opportunity and take my wife and little girl over with me and make a holiday out of it...

I know you guys will have a ball but please ride safe whilst doing so.

All the best,

Ian

Guys,
How's the Hogs Breath sound? From what I recall it has a fairly large car park and is a little out of the way down near the jetty. Just called them and they're ok to just serve us beverages/coffee mid Saturday arvo, so how's that and Saturday at 3:30 sound?

The address is -
Hogs Breath Cafe

Works for me Daz. We'll be there!
"We" now being my partner, Kerry, has decided to come along as well. So its a casual cruise up the highway on Friday. We are staying at the Opal Cove resort about 10 mins north of town, since town itself is booked out.
On Sunday I'm going to drop Kerry at the airport so she can fly back, then I'll go via Armidale and then Thunderbolts Way, an extra 200 or so k's but should be a good 8-9hr ride home.

Enjoy NZ Ian. Kerry's off to there (Queenstown) for 3 days for work early tomorrow morning too, wanted me to go but I wanted more time there, just couldn't justify the costs for a quick trip. 4 weeks would be great, even better with an LT! Anyway, good way to check out all the rides you want to do, eh?

Chris, Kerry and I might be on the same flight together...
Will certainly be checking out the roads re a trip on the bike at some stage... We have hired a motorhome for the time over there, doing both north and south islands...really looking forward to it as it is the first holidays since we got married just over 3 year ago now.

You guys enjoy the AGM, would be great to see a 'pod' of LTs together in one place...please make sure that lots of photos are taken!!!!

The more the merrier, Kevin. I'm a newbie Ulyssean and still a "junior", for a few months anyway. This will be my first AGM experience.
Guess I'll have to help Phill get off his bike

Meet at H.B.C

This sounds to good an opportunity to miss.
I'm going to ride down to meet up with everyone at the Hogs breath on the Saturday arvo.

Only negative is that I will have to scoot back to Brisbane that night, as I have other commitments on the Sunday.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers for now

might be able to "boost" numbers by putting a note on the Ulysses web site about the LT clan meeting, but then again, we may get raided by HD riders....

first pics - Hogs Breath LT Muster

Well, it may not be a CCR, but we had a great turnout for our Hogs Breath LT Muster on Sat afternoon... All up 17 LT's arrived, 1 had to leave (Cob) before we got a full lineup of 16. Someone had a great idea (?) to colour-co-ordinate... so we duly did.
Comment of the day from a passing leathered biker.. "and I thought Harley owners were posers!!"
Just a few pics to start with...

G'day Chris,

Great photos, envious. This must be a first in Australia to have so many LT's in the one spot.

The Muster

Your apologies were passed on Hilton, along with those from Barry Lane and Phil (I'll turn up a day late) Ward . (Hey Phil, Beryl would've been the only girl in a red skirt mate! )
We know there were probably a few more LT's at Coffs that didn't come on Sat afternoon also.
Rest of my pics are HERE.

A few of the others took a lot of pics too, I know Kevin will post his.

...and yes, love the 's!

Hey great photos Chris! (I see also you were a "naughty boy" going home)
Glad everyone had a good time. The bikes all lined up looks excellent.

Was there any discussion about having another LT owners get together at the Snowy Ride in November?

I''ve already booked my accommodation for this year in Thredbo. I'm staying at the Berntis Mountain Inn on the Friday and Saturday night the same as last year.

This year I'm also taking my Dad along. He's 75 years old now, so not quite up to the full trip from Brisbane, so he's flying to Canberra and I'll pick him up from there, and spend Friday and Saturday with me doing the ride. I'll then drop him at canberra airport Sunday morning to catch his flight back to Brisbane.

So who else is going?

Cheers

Barry

snowy?

Hi Jake! Mate, we couldn't believe how many rolled up... we just kept looking for more space in the carpark!

Hi Barry. Umm, me? naughty!!? no, no.... ummm, had a long straight stretch outside Walcha with no-one around, so I thought it a good time to clean out the spark-plugs and exhaust, but only momentarily.
Had a great ride back from Coffs via Waterfall Way to Armidale, then Thunderbolts Way and Bucketts Way with almost no-one else on that road heading south, then back into traffic just north of Newcastle. Great variety of roads, although a touch slippery in the shade on some of the "mountain" forest sections.

Kevin is still trying to get a list together of people who want to do a specific LT meet, he'll post about that.
But expect a few more at Snowy this year, Daz said he was interested this time. Kerry and I will be staying at House of Ullr again, too.
