Now where do LT in Asia go to?

hmmm...

Now there isn't any Asian sub-category... So I guess LT's in Asia will have to gate crash those down under...

Where are you?

Hi 'Plonk' and welcome to the site!

From your message I take it that you are located somewhere in Asia? (Hopefully not in Bali...) You are more than welcome to 'crash' the Aussie and Kiwi forum...in fact, I might get on to the Admin guys and get such extended to Australasia!

If you get a chance, introduce yourself and it would be great if you could fill out your bio a bit...

Cheers mate!

From Singapore

Hi Ian,

The bomb went off in Bali again... totally sick.

I'm writing from Singapore... one of the only 16 LTs in the whole country.

G'day again and welcome mate! You may have noticed that we changed the name of the forum to make you feel more at home [laugh]

Just 16 in the country? Do you know any of the other riders/owners? By all means point them to this site if you do...

If you get a chance, please fill out some details in your profile (under User CP from the menu) bar...at least your name would be great. Would also like to hear more about what you do and get up to in beautiful Singapore!

Cheers mate,

Ian

G'day Roy,
Even thought your cricketing skills could do with a bit of improvement [laugh] you guys are of course more than welcome to join us here 'downunder'...

Maybe we should just call our forum "Southern Hemisphere" eh? Or "All those South of the Equator"...what do you think?

How many LT riders do you estimate in SA?

My sister lived in Cape Town for a couple of years...one of my regrets was that I never visited her. Maybe one day I will get over to your magnificent country. Post some pix of you and the bike if you get a chance...

Cheers mate,

Hi
I know of only about 5 LT's in Cape Town but there are many throughout the country. I am surprised how few S A riders are on this forum. I think the LT, and big tourers in general are very slow sellers here. The GT and RS are also not common. They are very expensive in S A.
OTOH - BMW dominate the market here with the GS models - they are huge sellers with the F650 and R1150/R1200GS.

Thanks for the welcome.
Pic attached of the big mean green machine on a pass about 300Km from Cape Town. Also some pics in the gallery.

Go well.

Roy, thanks for the pics and please feel free to invite the others along to join the site. I might see if I can have a word to the admin guys to update the name of this forum to be more welcoming, either way you guys are most welcome to hang out here!

I look forward to hearing more about SA and some of the riding over there. How long have you had the beast?

I do tell everyone I meet that this is THE forum for the LT.

I've only had mine 8 weeks and 4800Km

Got a deal I could not turn down - I wasn't even looking for an LT.
My last bike was a Honda Blackbird - I was looking for something similar.
I had a Goldwing once...

It must have been fate.

By far the best bike I have ever owned.

Hey RoyvL

We will definitely "ride into" each other when I return to SA. I just saw you are from Capetown. I stay in Strand.

Did you by any chance go to the Swallows Rally in Worcester this year? I met two guys on LT's but did not get where they were from. I could not focus on the registration numbers, must have been the cooldrink I had.

Hi Zapman

Small world!
Wasn't me at the rally - seldom have time for them.
Always keen for a ride though. PM me when you are back - a blast down Clarence Drive to Kleinmond for breakfast is the best way to start the weekend - thats where I'm going tomorrow.

Stay well.
