corbin smuggler for /99 model

Hi all
Have my 99 LT for sale but no interested parties as yet... So is there anyone out there who has/knows of a corbin smuggler for sale. Don't want to pay too much -(better be upfront to save any misunderstandings ) don't care about condition/colour as long as it fits and it doesn't leak, all is good. Was thinking of a back up/or similar - expensive to ship here from the USA or maybe even relocating the topbox forward to replace the seat - has been done if a bracket is made up to attach to the pillion mounting bolts, looks a bit weird but is practical and worth a try.
Hardly ride the thing and/if l do, l need a backrest to lean against to give my back a rest on longer rides.

Ta, Nick

Re: corbin smuggler for /99 model

Hi Nick. I picked up a Backup backrest for mine a few years ago, from a guy in Newfoundland of all places! Price was right so bought it, and haven't looked back. A little strange at first but I did a 16,500km ride around Oz with it, and would have had a lot more trouble without it.
Some I've seen for sale here are ridiculous prices... people trying to make back their poor conversion rate ($$$) ... probably look at the US market for one, even with shipping likely to be a lot cheaper option if you go that way.

Re: corbin smuggler for /99 model

Yep, saw them, bit dear for a bike that may/may not sell and priorities with family finances, they never end....... I am going to make up a bracket that seats the topbox forward so the rider can utilise the pillion backrest-just unbolted the topbox/pillion seat and thought,, why not??. I also have a homemade riders back rest (very well made) that l will weld/bolt to the bracket - suprisingly easy to just move the topbox forward mind you.. doesn't look too bad with it mounted forward, better than l expected but a pain if one needs to raise the rider's seat. Will post a pic when l'm done.. Having the topbox/pillion seat removed gives one ample space to mount a custom box - suprised how heavy that topbox is, makes a marked difference to the handling/top heaviness at slow speeds.
