Hi from Tassie

Hi all from Tassie

Just purchased my 2nd ever motorbike and I'm 52yo, it's a K1200LT 2001 model. Got it fairly cheap and it's in "good' condition considering her age. Hope to catch up with other BMW riders in Tassie

As mentioned, this is only my 2nd every bike. My first one was a Honda VT400 (LAM's) to learn/P's on so the Honda was NO speed demon or even Touring bike and as much as I loved that Honda she was bloody uncomfortable for long trips.

Now that I'm on a full Motorbike licence I've decided to get a touring bike as Tassie is totally awesome for motorbike touring/riding/cruising or racing.

Recently, MCN's senior test rider Michael Neeves has rated Tasmanian roads as the best in the world.

Hope to learn more about my 1200LT and all the criticisms I've read aside, I think she will be a good tourer for my partner and I. Once my partner read the reviews on the fantastic pillion comfort....she was all for the K1200LT

Cheers all, Pete
Couldn't find any dedicated BMW riders/owners groups in Tassie so I'll join up with Ulysses which is cool because the next AGM is in Tassie in 2016.

Better add some pics

Cheers all, Pete

Re: Hi from Tassie

btw... which colour and year model is it? I see its a pre- '05, but can't tell from pics whether its the Toscana Green (love that colour) or a silver thats just reflecting the light giving it a greenish hue?

So, has that "broken piece of crap" made it home yet Linton?
BTW.... I just received 2 x Magura clutch slave cylinders from BB in some extra "spares" I bought... so if you need another...
Probably should have put a new one in when we did my clutch... but if it ain't broke...
