Where to fit the LED Lights

Hi to all,

I am looking for opinions and experience on fitting additional LED spotters to the front of the LT. I've completed the HID upgrade, but would like to add some additional ED spotters. Whilst they will add somee additional illumination, I am more interested in the lights providing a triangle affect.

I am looking for best effect. Is it fixed to the cover below the radiator? Or attached to the front of the lower engine cover?

I have seen bikes with them attached to brackets all over the front. I am just interested in opinions post instalation.

The units I have are about 2cm in diameter, with a 10-12 mm hole size.

Look forward to opinions and pics.

Brian

Re: Where to fit the LED Lights

If you using these lights to be sure other drivers are aware of you I'm partial to mounting them just below the air intake for the oil cooler. Just be sure they're tucked in tight and allow enough clearance for the full compression of the front suspension when pushing hard through a curve or encountering a severe bump or pot hole. OH yea, I also prefer amber lights for attracting attention. If they're intended to be driving lights for night vision then perhaps a lower mounting would be preferred.

is all I've ever had for the triangle effect. Not to say that I don't have more. Hid's under the mirrors, Piaa's under the cowl)

Just replaced the standard bulb included with an LED pair...

Re: Where to fit the LED Lights

Yeah, they are pretty tiny ones Brian.
I just bought a couple of CREE 10W floods (not spots) for the GT, so I can sort that one out too... wasn't prepared to pay the expense of Motolights again although I love them on the LT.
Mate... garage, lights off... tape them in different spots and see what you think works best for visibility... then figure out how to mount them.

Hey Brian I've got PIAAs that came with brackets that fit under the air intake for the oil cooler.Ive also got the HID conversion and have been very happy with the light pattern from the position of the PIAAs.

Re: Where to fit the LED Lights

Hi all,
Fitted them today. Found an active, ignition controlled connector in the indiator loom. A piece of aluminium, 25mm x 30mm right angle cut to 30mm used as bracket. Fitted in front of the radiator using existng screws. Bottom line is, if i don't like it I can change without doing any non reversable mods.

Photos may help to show affect. What I eas after was others seeing me more than improving visability.
