Re: Shoei Multitecs on Sale!

I want a new modular helmet for this year, and I want to get something other than a Nolan. My last helmet from them really let me down. I wonder if I should give this modular a try.

Neotec is the replacement for the multitec. Reportedly with much better ventilation.

Can you get that hat for less than $600?
(And I don't mean $584.09 - $596.99)

Re: Shoei Multitecs on Sale!

I bought a Multitec about a month ago to replace my 6 year old Nolan N102 & love it. I really wanted the Nolan N104 but they changed the shape compared to the N102 & it did not fit me right. The Multitec is much lighter & much more quiet then the Nolan. I do miss the Pinlock for the Antifog shield but that is it.

Re: Shoei Multitecs on Sale!

I tried a Neotech for several days before returning it. Great helmet, just did not work for me. But it does have a great internal airflow. Best I have ever had. But the vents only close 90%, which in the winter gets a little cold. Supposedly you can call Shoei and they have replacement vents that close all the way if you want.

FYI: The NeoTech comes standard with Pinlock shield.

Re: Shoei Multitecs on Sale!

Just been through trying all the flip-face Neotec's, Multitec's, new BMW v6, Nolan N103 & N104.... various things I didn't like about each (BMW was the price, of course).. wound up buying a Shark Evoline 3 Hakka.
On the Shoei's I found the flip-down sun-visor was cut around the nose in such a way that it interfered with my vision, the Nolan's were slightly better in that regard but I still didn't like the way the sun-visor was cut (I wear tinted optical glasses when riding anyway).
The Shark has a better shaped sun-visor (for me anyway) although it still has 2 small protuding points in my upper peripheral vision.. I'll learn to ignore them.
BMW's had very limited sizes and colours available until they get proper shipments down-under, but almost $1k for a helmet is bullshit.
The Shark was around $550 on special deal, which is still way more than you guys would pay for one.... but we need to have our own certification sticker on it so can't buy from OS.
