Sorry to ask this

Because I know how much work it will be for folks to answer so thanks in advance. I have not been on a touring bike since 2003 (85 goldwing) and then did not have an intercom. Past six years have been on an american twin and it didn't matter much if I had one or not. Came out of the dark ages to a new GT and get this (a full face helmet no less!) I'm not sure yet but my wife may actually join me on this thing and I'm not sure but I may actually want to occasionaly talk to her if she did.(granted, the answer to that question is fliud). I have no idea the technology of the day, in fact the same is true of the new bike - which so far has been a blast!

I purchased a Noland (104) - down and dirty, what is the best system out there? How do you but these things? Do I need to order cables separately? Is installation a big deal? Is buying direct (or on the internet) a bad idea?

Re: Sorry to ask this

Several choices..

There are new "helmet" mounted types for conversation...

You could mount permanent ... or in a bag... or add to your pocket!

If you're searching for the top.. then that may be Baeher... (spelling?)...

What are some $ and convenience limitations?

I have an "aftermarket" intercom that stays on the bike... sends me my wife's voice, allows Bike to Bike over FRS and music... for less than $400. Runs on the bike's battery... has inexpensive helmet and wiring replacements... etc..

Go have a look in the "intercom" section... and you may find your answers..

Re: Sorry to ask this

Technology marches on....
I guess I shouldnt say about the system I use, but if you must...
we get 25 3 x 5 cards each... we then will write what we want to say about anything..

such as.. Pull over- got to go to the bathroom...
need to eat...
Did you see that?

So basically we each get to use 25 cards each and once they are used up it is time to use hand signals..

keeps conversations [pretty simple] and to the point.

LOL she used the cards on the highway patrol and I almost got away with being deaf....

SNort...

he went huh? she said "oops cards upside down,,,,"

oh. I do have the autocom system... and the bluetooth jianos.

they are ok... but cards are so much fun...

Don't be afraid to say what you feel, as those that matter DOnt mind and those that mind Dont matter.

hahaha..

My wife used to talk to me in BRAILLE...
one tap = See that?
two tap (one on each hip) = love ya..

flurry of taps on helmet and back = Slow down ! etc...

Just feel the bumps... communication was harder when I started wearing a helmet.

Re: Sorry to ask this

Hey Boys, my wife as well - 30 years we have been riding and those taps do mean a lot, You will appreciate this: I got Christine on the Harley and she started banging (hard) on my helmet - because her a&% was numb! Hey, so was mine!
