Edmonton is the Capitol of Alberta and with a population of nearly 1 million people there is no shortage of things to do.

The West Edmonton Mall often referred to as the "8th wonder of the world", encompassing 5.2 million square feet and features over 800 stores and services, over 100 eating establishments and nine world class attractions.

It spans the equivalent of 48 city blocks in the west end of Edmonton, Alberta. It is the largest shopping mall in North America and the 5th largest in the world.

The amusement park, originally called Fantasyland, is now called Galaxyland after the Walt Disney Company sued and won for trade name infringement. It is an indoor amusement park located on the north side of the mall. It is the largest indoor amusement park in the world and features 24 rides and attractions. There are 8 beginner rides, 9 intermediate rides, 7 thrill rides, including the triple loop Mindbender roller coaster,Edmonton Mall

At one end of the mall is the Fantasyland Hotel with 355 rooms in an eleven story building featuring themed rooms such as:

Hollywood, Roman, Polynesian, African, Truck, Western, Arabian, Igloo, Canadian Rail and Sports. In addition to the themed suites there are other standard rooms and suites. You could plan an entire vacation just staying at the West Edmonton Mall.

There is always something happening under the glittering glass dome of the sensational Ice Palace. You may find a star-studded figure skating event taking place, or you might catch an Edmonton Oilers hockey practice on the National Hockey League sized rink. On any day you'll find dozens of skaters, some members of the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club, practicing their artistry and skills. And you'll find recreational skaters enjoying many of the Mall's public skating programs, such as the popular Seniors Skate. Great music and the sparkling lights around the rink add to the magic of the Ice Palace.

Mega numbers of teens fill Galaxyland Amusement Park for energetic, fun-filled dance parties during the school year. Rock 'N Ride Dance Party is twice the fun with Much Video Dance Party on two giant video screens, today's hottest music, plus unlimited rides from 8 p.m. to midnight.
