For my tuppence
Rider - 11111
SO - 11111

Before I moved to Belgium I was 11101, however I included trousers to my inventory, and I am now ATGATT. 'er indoors will not ride unless she is in full gear.

While on a tour round Brussels I was not wearing the correct trousers, and got told off by the police. Denim just is not capable of providing protection they said!

Best regards

Having crash-tested my Motoport Airmesh II Kevlar jacket and pants, ATGATT is the only way to go. Not a scratch on me, just some cracked ribs ! Ouch !!. Besides, it is cooler than just T-shirt and jeans in the hot weather of Louisiana in the summer.

Re: Safety Gear Survey

http://bmwdean.com/white-helmets.pdf

OOPs, I was off on the HI-VIZ, it's 37% !!!!

Use of reflective or fluorescent clothing
Nearly 20% of control drivers were wearing some type of reflective or fluorescent clothing. Drivers wearing reflective or fluorescent clothing had a 37% lower risk
of motorcycle crash related injury cases and population controls. Values are numbers (percentages)
of crash related injury than those who were not wearing such materials (table 2). When stratified by ambient illumination (day, twilight, night), the protec- tive association seemed to increase with falling light levels, although numbers were small at twilight, reduc- ing the precision of the effect estimate (see bmj.com).
Helmet colour
The main colours of helmet reported by control drivers were black (39.8%), white (30.6%), and red (13.8%). Compared with wearing a black helmet, use of a white helmet was associated with a 24% lower risk (table 2). We found similar associations for red and a combined group of yellow and orange helmets, although these did not achieve standard levels of statis- tical significance. Self nominated description of “light coloured” helmet compared with “dark coloured” helmet was associated with a 19% lower risk.

I'm not sure if this is the order of the survey but using this: 11101
My first bike back in the '70 I did not always wear a helmet does that count. Before always leather jacket, chaps on my GW. LT just got riding pants. So now I have five of a kind all 11111. Intend to keep it that way if I get any younger.
