By the by, it isn't necessary to un-clip the linkage. If you back off the jam nut you can simply turn the link, threading it into the clevis. There is a hex section at the top of the link for this purpose. It's just below the boot and is barely visible in the first picture of the cited post.
If you want to know the easiest way to do something, ask a lazy person.
Like Tom - I just backed off the jam nut and turned the shaft. I did it without thinking about it like I've adjusted loads of other threaded linkages of various types. I wasn't being lazy, I just didn't know I wasn't supposed to do it that way.
