iJET and shock control

Has anyone tried to use a iJet Remote Control or similar? Also does Ram make a mount that would isolate the IPOD so hardrive based ones won't lock up or skip. I was thinking about mounting the IPOD and mounting a remote to the handlebar. BTW, I have the BMW Comm system so I can hook the IPOD directly into it. Playing through the speakers is no big deal to me

John,
I use an iJet with the IPOD in the odments compartment. It works fine, but you cannot see the screen. I have never had any skipping issues.

I don't know of any RAM mounts that isolate vibration, but Cyclegadget.com has a few different options for iPODs.

I've had my iPod in the oddments box for 70K miles with no lockups. I don't have an ice>Link or any other add-on connection, as my iPod is wired through the factory remote directly into my intercom.

John,
I am thinking of getting an IPOD Nano and hooking it into my BMW Comm System. I haven't done a lot of checking yet, but is there a special cable I would need to connect directly to the Comm System?

Thanks in advance,

It should just take a standard 3.5mm stereo cable, with both ends just like what's on the iPod headset cable.

Hello Joe,

May I ask which ijets you have and where you use them? I just spoke to iJet and they say the iJet with the display is not available yet (and it is 129 USD). They also mention the plain ijet is 40 USD but it gives no visual indication as to what is playing. What do you do Joe? Just let it play and use the shuffle keys to get the album you want? Sounds arkward. I know that it is not good practice to be selecting an album while riding, but I guess that I do do that.

I am quite curious to see why you need two. Do they not travel with the iPOD?

Mark

Thanks

not what you asked

i put my ipod in an otter box ( brand name) made for it, put a little velcro on the back of the box, put the box on top of the velcro of my tank bag, and plugged a jack from my com unit into the otter box. by the way, the otter box is water proof, and you can still use its controls. omurphy
