142 indicated - 14.2 speedo error = 127.8 mph actual.. Pretty close...
I''d have to be in some pretty serious trouble to want to go any faster than that.... It's not the speed so much as the threat of sudden decelleration...DOH ! John

Simon, when you find out what's wrong with yours, post the issues, cuz mine must be broke too!
I thought it was 98hp, and I've had mine tapped out, and not even close to an indicated 142 mph. But I do get 100 miles per gallon, 0-60 in 59 seconds, and mine's not top heavy.  ps I've never dropped it either

Even with everything tucked in I have never been able to get my LT over 125 indicated.

130 mph according to my garmin GPS
9.14 in the eigth mile at 85.56 mph 9.14 x 1.57 = 14.34 in the quarter mile I could have pushed it more my 60' was only 2.39. Knowing the propensity for this thing to eat clutches. I was easy on the launch.

My BMW Navigator (Garmin) showed I reach a max speed of 176 MPH on a trip. I don't remember going that fast.
