Hey folks, John has stepped up to the plate for 2009 and will head up and organize our STC and SMFR gatherings.

It goes without saying, that John will make these events the best ever and I ask your continued support for our gatherings.

It was once said, "It was the bike that got us together, but the friendships keeps us together."

My thanks to Charlene and John Powell, Randy and staff at Ironhorse, again a great weekend.

I think he meant me -- but you can help too! Looking for good ideas to breath a little life back into STC for the spring. Maybe a tech session or guest lecturer.

Re: 2009 Dates For STC and Fall Reunion

John,

I joined you last spring from Ohio with wife Franny. It was our first and my wife was concerned that she would be reading a book while I was in a tech session for the whole weekend. As it turned out, the weather was gorgeous and we rode more than we wrenched. That is tough not to do when you are in some of the nicest riding country available. We enjoyed the format being loose and flexible.
Thank you for taking the reigns and I hope to join you again.

John

Hats off to Don for handling the Spring and Fall Gatherings over the past several years for a job well done.

Thanks to John for assuming the responsibilities of our bi-annual gatherings.

John,

Tell Fanny that Jean and Charline are working up some plans for the Ladies if we get a rain day and start wrenching. They will have some activity set up.

Re: 2009 Dates For STC and Fall Reunion

I happened to stagger around in the bottom of a thread, where the links to similar threads are. One of those links was to a website for Spring Training Camp. Who knew there was a website? It hasn't been updated since STC 2007. Messenger13 (Joe) and Vstromboli (Jacques) created the website. Joe has been absent since Oct. 31. Jacques since Sept. 30. I know nothing about updating websites, running one, etc., but is it possible for someone to update the website, add pictures, change dates, and so forth, without the creator's doing the work? It sure would be nice if this could be done.

Is it April yet?

Lee, I am not a webmaster type person, maybe someone will chime in with answer, however I think you have to have permission, codes and passwords to change a web site.

That was a great web page design and we used it back in 06 and 07 events.
Joe got Jacqaues to create and design it.

Maybe one of our faithful attendees has webmaster skills and just create a new one.

Good to hear from you.

Re: 2009 Dates For STC and Fall Reunion

John et al,

Had a thought for this year's tech session. I remember last year that Pastor Jack and you were demo-ing how to drill the Weep Hole on the clutch slave cylinder. We didn't get through it last year because of an uncooperative bolt and had to re-assemble the bike without drilling the hole.

Would you and Pastor Jack consider doing it again, with another bike (I would volunteer my 99 LT) but this time with a video of the Weep Hole procedure, to be posted on this website and shown at the CCR? It would be similar to the video of the Rear Drive Rebuild/Repair prepared and presented at last years CCR by Curtis (Charlie VT). I think it would be great for the site and for the HOW archives.

Just a thought.

Re: 2009 Dates For STC and Fall Reunion

Dan,

We sure could. I was ready at CCR but we ran out of time. I have done mine since and "consumed" one of those uncooperative bolts already, I still have one spare. I also ended up using the oiltite replacement bearings for the FD as my roller bearings were a bit notchy at 45K.
