Motopia Cafe, Dallas

This just in from our resident "chick" magnet - Monte

http://www.motopiacafe.com/index.php

Seems we have a new coffee bar/cafe mainly for bikers. Seems the Ducati riders have found the place as well as some of the BMW riders. Talked with the owners of the place yesterday and they say the place is gaining in popularity from the local area bike crowd. They are offering something different than just a bar to hang out at.

They do have a detail shop for those who want someone else to clean their bike.

Check out the site, may be a place to meet for coffee before starting out on a ride or afterwards to end the day.

Hey, I'm headin' to KS Wednesday and unfortunately am thinking of running I-35. Got some bidness over on that side of the county on my way outta Dodge and will just stay on it. You know I usually take I-35W at the split, butt since last time I took I-35E and it wuzn't too bad goin' thru Big D. Then I think I take 75 north, don't I? Is this Motopia place anywhere close to where I'm goin'?? Prolly be late afternoon before I make it that far.

It's right on US-75 at Fitzhugh. Interesting concept. If I was closer I'd hang out for a spell. If you do stop by let us know what you think.

It's on the west side of 75 just south of Fitzhugh, maybe a quarter of a block down. You can easily pass by it if your not looking for it. It sits a little back of the roadway and does not have a large sign out front. the only signage is on the building.

It is an interesting concept.

My thoughts exactly, Dick! Now I have been invited over to the Coleman's for Apple and Cherry Pie from Heritage (YUMMY), but have never been sent a pie? Does that mean you have? Ohhh, if so I gotta get on Bruce's better side.

Ok, who are the investors in this group?

Add a motorcycle accessory and clothing store and we have a winning concept.
Get a good location on the way out of town in the direction of the best rides, provide meeting space for groups and and watch them come.

If one is ordered for you, where should it be delivered. Seems someone is never home long enough to pick it up off the front porch.

And Dick, seems the lady you live with was not too happy when you received the last one that was sent to ya..... and ate the whole thing yourself.....was that in one or two days.....

The menu does not show "PIE", but that does not mean that they will not carry it in the future since they just opened up. I did see some sort of pastries in a display case. but did not take notice what they were. Since the place is soooo new I bet they are still working on the menu and adding and removing things as they go. Guess you'll just have to sign up on their web site and give them guidance as to what should be on their menu....

Have it delivered to YOUR house silly boy . . . PIE is always better shared with you and QJ. But I get the first slice and we will split the leftovers.

Ahem, I have standing orders for anyone to put me out of my misery if I ever utter any thought or concept on opening another retail establishment.

Update on Motopia

This is from a recent email:

Our after-work crowd is growing and it looks like our garage's expanded offering has hit the mark.

New Things at Motopia
  • Restaurant and Bar - We are now seeing more and more familiar faces regularly after-work during the week. Great place to wind down before going home.
  • Service Shop - Our expanded shop services seem to be a hit. Last week, we brought two vintage bikes back to life, we changed a few tires and oil, added some accessories, and were busy with our detail services as well. Stay tuned, within 1-2 weeks, we will also be doing inspections.
  • PR - We issued our first formal press release to most media outlets in the Metroplex. We included some great, and very artistic, pictures of Motopia. If you would like to see some of them, click here.
As always, for more information and the latest news, visit www.motopiacafe.com.

Hope to see you soon at Motopia,

Rene Larrave
