Unhappy Fuel gauge

Well I got my 2010 on the 16th haven't rode much due to time off work, I now have 500 miles on it and happy to say no stalling problem but I just rode home from the gas station after my 2nd tank full and no fuel gauge!

This is interesting. BMW told the head mechanic at my local shop that the 2010 would have a different type of fuel strip and the failing gauge issue would be fixed.
