I Love A Parade ... What A Way To Wrap Up CCR!!!
HELLO, BOYZ and GRILZ...
Did you ever get to participate in one of small town America's finest home town celebrations -- a parade? If you grew up in the city you've probably never been that fortunate. Watching them today, they are the best of times for small town kids, the kind of events that let us all step back for a moment to the days when we were kids and we knew everyone riding a decorated wagon or bike along main street on the 4th of July. And then there were those rare, intoxicating and exotic entries like the Shriners on motorcycles or driving those little cars -- kewl beyond imagination. On Friday & Saturday at the end of CCR, Midway, Utah will be celebrating its 62nd annual Swiss Days Festival. http://www.midwayswissdays.com If you look at the web site, the program actually begins with booths and food and crafts, Swiss music and yodeling, on Friday in the historic Midway Town square -- ANOTHER thing to do at CCR on Friday and this helps the town that is helping your event. The parade is Saturday morning at ten, and I'm organizing a CCR group to participate with me in the parade in a motorcycle motorcade. I figure we can ride and be finished and able to roll toward home at noon or before. If your travel plans allow it, come and join me!!! The chamber and the business community is supporting CCR and when we support their annual fair we all benefit that much more and I think it will be a fun way to wrap up CCR with our new friends in Midway. I invite anyone who would like to ride in the parade to respond to this poll if you plan to ride and I’ll have the deal organized and I’ll include a parade riders handout and instruction sheet at registration. All we need to do is gather at the designated spot and form up in echelon. Decorate your ride if you want, or add a toy to toss to a cute kid on the route or bring along a sack of candy, but the idea is mainly just a motorcade. If we get a handful of folks, so be it. If we get a lot, even better. A key element to make this work is to be able to check out of the rooms AFTER the parade so we can leave our gear secured, and I should be able to have that arranged with the Resort so we can support their community parade. AND, since we were not able to get an ERC together for this year, at least it will give you a chance to sharpen up your low speed handling skills!!! Come on, put a smile on a kid's face with me.

Re: I Love A Parade ... What A Way To Wrap Up CCR!!!
A parade, it would be a great thing to take a part of a parade! I have seen those parades only on TV. Cause I'm a newbie faraway from Europe, I will use the opportunity, if possible, to take a part of the small town traditionell parade. Do you know if it possible to get/borrow father Christmas costume for the parade? Why Santa's? Cause Santa Claus comes from Lappland, Finland of course! ![]()

Re: Parade Information ... What A Way To Wrap Up CCR!!!
I'm sending along what information I have about the Saturday Parade at this time. I'll try to have definitive information posted at the Registration Desk area all during the event. Plan C is to call me at the event or ask me if you see me lurking around. I'll be registered at Zermatt.
Parade starts at 10AM. Parade forms up along Main Street in Midway with the front at its intersection with 2nd E or 200E, and stringing back toward the east, past 3rd E, to N. River Road (which is also 4th E). Main St runs east/west. The numbered streets run north/south and the Parade will "point" west. Midway is about 8 blocks from east to west and 6 blocks from north to south so it won't be hard to find the Parade. The Parade rolls at 10AM. Please plan to be there no later than 9:45 AM and look for the LTs. Ask volunteers in Tshirts with the big red square and white cross of Switzerland and the US flag on them. It goes about 8 blocks, so you'll be on your way home pretty quickly afterwards. Thanks for riding with me! Barrett Allison
