I ordered the Aeroflow Aerowings on Sunday. Got a UPS tracking number Monday & they will be here on Thursday. Now that is good customer service. I went with the Smoked ones as I think they will match the blue bike better then the clear would. Here are a few pics & a link to their web site.
A while back a forum member ( I think from Canada) made up a similar product that mounted to the lower side of the mirror. They came with snaps, not velcro. I ordered a pair, but ended up selling them to someone else after they sat around a while. Didn't feel the need for them in Florida.
They were quite a bit smaller and I wonder how they will compare. They were a lot less conspicuous. Steve, didn't you try a pair?
I have Aeroflow Aerowings on the K1300GT. I've looked at the ones for the K1600GT... They don't look bad and probably function pretty well. I don't mean to sound cheap, but, at $145.00 for two small, formed pieces of smoked plexiglass? I know there are develop costs, but...
Seriously, it's not just "two small, formed pieces of plexiglas", it's exactly how they're formed that makes it work. Paige at AeroFlow is a master at fluid flow dynamics, and the stuff he produces just flat works. I ran with several different prototype wings, using various shapes and sizes, for many thousands of miles in a wide variety of wind and weather conditions, before he settled on the final design.
He's also a hell of a rider, too, although he never does talk about that much . . .
There are other aftermarket wind management options out there for the K16, mostly coming from Europe, but I guarantee they're not any cheaper, and may or may not work as well.
But if you really want a cheaper option, you could always look here, or try to fab something up yourself . . .
Just back in from the field.........long season and maybe get in a few more days before the "beautiful white stuff".............have to cram in some ride time as it's supposed to snow come Sunday.................
The wings came in & it only took about 15 minutes to install. The smoked ones really "Blend" in with the bike. They follow the body lines great & look like something BMW would have made for the bike. I'll hopefully get to go for a ride on Sunday to test them out. :bike:

Ok, I swallowed my pride and opened my wallet. Ordered a set this afternoon from the Iphone while at dinner... I'll post pictures when I get them installed. I'll also post a rider report if they get here in time for our "Boys Weekend" in WV next week... It'll be interestind to see how they work with the CalSci windscreen.
Went for a short 110 mile ride this morning & man what difference the Areowings make. I get a little air on my shoulders still but none on the hands & most of my arms. Was not able to take Sammie with me as she had to go to work but just by holding up my hand into the are I could tell the "Pocket" of still air around me & behind me was greater then before.
Do you have a non-factory windshield? I am curious this is stopping the wind from hitting you. I hate looking thru the windshield, and would love something that would cut the wind down. Where did you get them?

I got my Aero Wings on Saturday and installed. Went for a test ride on Sunday and wouldn't you know it was 100 degrees here and they forecast the same for rest of the week. I'm sure I will appreciate them soon especially on early mornings commutes.
