"My Motorcycle" Info

Saw some folks wondering why the RT doesn't have this. Saw this posted on a '17. People questioned it so he also posted a video showing how to get to it.

I think you need to buy a 2017 for it to be on the Nav.

Yep! My dealer loaned me a '17 RT demo bike while they did my valves. I plugged in my Nav V and saw that.

Re: "My Motorcycle" Info

The cool thing on a 2017 w/ NAV VI, is that if you go to "Last Ride", it show you your maximum lean angle +/-, Average lean angle, number of gear shifts, number of turns, number of front and rear brake applications, and a bunch of other things like average engine temp.

Damn, that sounds nice to have. I have a '16 w/ nearly 22K miles now and between the shifting improvements, ABS-Pro and now this it is worth thinking about upgrading. Spendy upgrade though and I have to say the '16 is just plain pleasant to ride and to date has been flawless. Oh well, talked myself out of it for the moment

I don't think so! I am fairly sure that I have the same page on my Nav V and the '15 RT! I don't look at it often, and so can't tell you how to get to that page. I will look, the next time that I get a chance.

From what I've seen, the pre-2017 bikes won't be able to display the functions I mentioned. The 2017 incorporates a position sensor as part of ABS Pro. The Nav is picking up this output to display such things as lean angles, number of turns, etc.

Re: "My Motorcycle" Info - Lean Angles

Is there any published info on the maximum lean angle of the RT ... just curious, not planning on testing out the max.

Also My Motorcycle lists positive and negative lean angles. Does one refer to leaning left and the other leaning right??

Bike on center stand. Put plywood up to tires and tilt it up until it hits something. Measure and take a little off for the rear up in the air. There's your max. I wouldn't though. You will be discouraged by the fact you aren't getting anywhere close to it.

I for one will be mightily pissed if this was only added to the 2017's on up .... but that is what I expect.

I'd be curious to see if he can get the diagnostic screens as well that the GS can that we can't.

---

Where was that posted and where is the video???

Thanks

If, and it's a big if, it's only a case of updating your pre-'17 RTW's computer, so just a software update, then I think that sucks big time by BMW. I can see them not offering a retrofit option involving new hardware for a significant new feature like ABS Pro, but as I say if it's software update only then yep, that's a real pisser and diminishing brand loyalty...just a bit, but a bit is a bit!

I will need to look for it again. The video was just showing him going to the apps and selecting the my motorcycle icon. As I recall, he may have been unaware it wasn't available on prior year bikes so he was simply showing someone where it was. Someone in this thread said they plugged there nav into a 17 and had the new features. Don't know of diagnostics.

That page, as shown in the original post, IS present with '14+ RT and Nav V! You can access it from the RT's menu. Get to the Nav section, and then select pages to change the display page. I can tell you for sure that it is on the '14 and '15, and I am assuming that it is on the '16. From what I have read, I think that the '17 RT may have added more data to be displayed. Perhaps as good as what one had on the wethead GS all along?

This is what I saw. I definitively don't have that when I ride my '15 RT. I got there by using the view menu and the wonder wheel. The only thing I don't know for sure is that this bike had the audio kit option, mine doesn't. I've checked with a friends '15 RT with audio and he doesn't have it either.

That is strange, because I DO have it on my '15 RT! Your Nav is Nav V, right?

Yes, Nav V with the latest software update.
It is strange, are you sure we're talking about the same thing, not the Trip computer?
Anyways, I will be riding an RT with the audio kit option next month, I should know more then.

Yes that's been available, but there is other data displayed on the My Moto page that we don't get, and that GS models 2013 or newer did get. I have always wanted to display BOTH TPM & ambient temp, and that I don't believe is possible for our model years.

OK....I take it back!!! I went out to my bike, and the picture that you post is what we have on the '15! Two screen full, but not the same page as what the OP had! Much of the same data there, but not all!
