Phone mount for 2007 R1200RT

Can anyone recommend a phone mount for my 2007 R1200RT?
I already have a RAM mount system for my sat nav fitted over the clutch reservoir.
I tried a similar set up for the phone over on the brake reservoir using the RAM x-grip, but brake fluid keeps leaking out, so I removed it and put back the original screws.
Is there anywhere else, other than the brake or clutch reservoirs, that I can put a phone mount or fit my x-grip to?

Re: Phone mount for 2007 R1200RT

After some further research, I'm thinking of using the migsel mount for the sat nav, and fitting the x-grip over the clutch reservoir.

BMW RT & GT - R1200RT - GPS mount - R1200RT - RAM type - all non LC - Migsel Bike Parts
Anyone try this mount?

Or maybe the phone & sat nav will fit on the migsel mount, if I buy an extra ball?

I have the Migsel mount on my 07 RT

Best mount IMHO, it can hold up to 3 RAM balls

I have my GPS and my TPMS on it

Easy to install and solid

If you can park it, and not turn around to admire it before walking away, you bought the wrong one.

Depends on how high you want it mounted. I have a RAM mount in one of my fork bolts.

I have the same mount connected to an Xmount and it works well. The only problem is there is a bunch of heat that comes up from the oil cooler and heats the phone. In the winter, it is not an issue, but in the summer my phone has shut down from getting too hot.

Unfortunately I wont have that problem in Ireland with our climate

Re: Phone mount for 2007 R1200RT

I run the Migsel on my '06 RT. I like the Migsel and have three mount balls on it; I use two, one is GPS and the other a camera. I have my phone in a tank bag and simply unzip the bag to ID a caller. The phone will overheat in the map pocket on a tank bag. The phone can also overheat in extended direct sunlight exposure; this is more likely the case as opposed to oil cooler heat in my experience.

My only observation about the Migsel is that it gets a bit "bouncy" with the weight hanging off the mounts. My guess is the Wunderlich mount better handles the cantilever.

I have two of the handlebar bolt ram mounts similar to MTREVELINO. Using a combination of RAM extensions, I have been able to mount a variety of phone/GPS/camera options just using this set up. I have found that it is possible to mount things where they are positioned to be iin the line of sight looking forward as well.
