Anyone interested in a used 49L top case?

I just got a brand new 49L and want to find a good home for my previously owned one. It has been custom painted Ostra Gray to match my fairing.
I am keeping the lock so you'll need to get one. First $300 gets it for local pickup, shipping will be additional otherwise.

What is the residue on the left side? Was there a decal or reflective material on it?

Re: Anyone interested in a used 49L top case?

Yes I am interested, very interested. I just turned in my k1600gtl for a r1200rt, that I like much more so. However, my wife likes the GTL case, which is almost impossible to get. So, one options is a case like this, and retrofit the GTL backpad, or she will like it as is.

She will have a chance to sit on a BMW with one like this tomorrow. I live in Tucson, do you have any sort of idea on the shipping? It could not be that bad, and, of course, your price is excellent.

How much did it cost to repaint it? If this works out, I could do that.

Do you use paypal?

Re: Anyone interested in a used 49L top case?

Also, I have read many sites that say this will fit a 2015 R1200rt, but I just read one from a online BMW dealer that says it will not. To me sure, do you know the answer to this question?

Thanks!

That's interesting, many folks with wetheads have used the "classic" style because the new style is way more expensive.

It will absolutely work as I (and many others on here) can attest. I kept the one off my '08 and have used it on my '15 since day one.

Just be aware that the GTL upper and lower pads may run you abut $600 total, although I recall finding them much cheaper from a european retailer. I know the GTL pads are a direct swap for the GT case but can't say that is true for this case. While the mounting holes/screws for the pads may line up, something may be a little "off" cosmetically, not functionally, at the hinges. I believe someone posted some pictures of this recently. I was lucky enough to find but paid $1200 + $72 shipping for a like new GTL case and had it repainted to match my '14 Ebony Metallic RT. The pint of paint cost me ~$100 and a local paint shop charged me $100 to spray it.

I put the GTL pads on my case. Here are the pics - the only issue is at the hinge location - and new hinges are 50 a pop to match.

You have the new style top-box while the OP is selling the old style! The backrests are different between the two styles.
