Indeed, there is a lot at steak (all puns intended), and trade wars can and will be very costly. Be careful what you wish for.

Not only did many of us not wish for the current situation, we actively fought against it because we understand the difference between aggressive and poorly implemented short term gains and intelligently managed long term prosperity...

Re: Look out!

Border tariffs are more showboating and there is no question US consumers will pay massively to the degree they are implemented, massively cubed. US manufacturing has been climbing aggressively for years now--the only problem is the jobs provided go to robotics and other automation schemes, not blue collar workers who lost their jobs due to outside manufacturing. The other huge incentive driving this is that it's become much more economically favorable to avoid sending raw materials to outside manufacturers then paying the return freight back to the US for finished goods. Make America Think Again

Re: Look out!

Preface my post by stating I did not vote for our current President, or another Clinton (although I did vote). I would guess I have probably threaded into these waters in the past myself, so I'm not throwing stones, just asking if we can't please have one place we don't have to see political BS. I am soooo tired of reading and hearing it and look to the Moto message boards as a safe space :-). I'm also not saying the original post was not informative and info worth sharing.

I agree. I am very politically motivated and passionate about the current state of affairs, but this should be a safe haven for all of us regardless of politics to share our love for our sport!

Re: Look out!

I just read recently that Victory is going to stop making motorcycles after this year. After 17 yrs. they just couldn't get a good foothold in the market. They will continue making parts for 10 yrs, and they are helping dealers get rid of their inventory.

Sorry folks my bad I agree it's best to keep religion and politics out of this blessed passion so my apologies I'll try not to do it again, and while I'm at it see if I can edit the above post...

IMHO no need to apologize NoelCP. But this is a wonderful haven for us all. I am a relatively newbie to BMW motorcycles, having only been a member since 2009 with my first R1200RT, and I truly enjoy all of the info and advice that is offered here FREE of charge. I have learned a lot here and utilized countless tips. Simply put, it is a fun place.
