Hi Pad, I hope spring finds you in good health.

I didn't feel like perusing ALL the oil threads, and trust your knowledge and judgement. So, what oil are you running? I just ordered the DVD from Jim Von Baden for doing service, up to now has been done through the dealer. Have you found anyplace online with good pricing for filters etc?

    Dean,

    One more thought.

One other option, but this bulb is more expensive, and the heat-sink looks more bulkier. Apparently this one will fit in the wethead housing without problems. You should be able to contact the vendor and ask specific questions, since they seem to know our bikes:

H7 3000 lumen LED Headlight bulb

Good luck, and let me know what you find out!

    Dean,

I haven't had one of those in my hands yet, but based on what I was reading, they comes with the electric controller module. I am assuming that you are talking about this one:

Note that in one of the recent thread, one person said that he had installed a pair of these (the price listed is for a pair) in his pre-wethead RT and they performed well, except that the bulb's heat-sink was still too large for him to be able to close the rear cover of the headlight housing! He was quite happy riding with them without putting the cover back on.

Look at this thread, and in particular post #6. I think that he is talking about the wethead RT ('14, '15, '16 RTs) like mine though, and so I don't know what the fit in yours would be like.

    Pad,

Regarding your links to the LED H7 headlight lamps, do these require a ballast, or is it simply remove the old H7 bulb and replace it with the new LED bulb? Or is the ballast included? The reason I ask is that my right low beam bulb just went out. Hey, at least I got nearly 4 years out of it! The right side is the difficult side for me to replace, the left side is much easier.

    Thanks,

    Dean

    Pad,

I might have to take you up on your offer, although Dayton is quite a distance from Cleveland. I'd like to check/adjust my valves, change my spark plugs, and my final drive fluid. I have the plugs and the oil, and the feeler gauges. I have a torque wrench. Not sure if I have the correct spark plug wrench, though. I have some grease for the driveshaft splines. I also have the JVB video. I'm not in any particular hurry to get this done.

    Thanks,

    Dean
