Nice bike. I bet your wife loves it. Did you install an air conditioning unit in the side ride as well? She feels like in a car. Correct?

Re: Time for an LT PICTURE THREAD!

No AC in the car. but enough vents to make it a wind tunnel, especially with the top off. Somewhat like a car but she pulls slightly right on accelerating and reverse on decel; Normal on a sidecar. Got to watch the right hand turns!, too fast and you lift the chair/car. That can get a bit dicey. Otherwise handles great. Pulls like a freight train.

Re: Time for an LT PICTURE THREAD!

So have been updating my K1200 garage find. traveling to my Sisters in Phoenix, with bike on trailer as I knew it needed TLC.
Removed the tupperware and started.New brake lines, installing J&M CB, new rear tire (check pictures). enough for this week. leaving bike in AZ. will be back in Dec for part 2. Finish bleeding brakes, engine maintenance (Oil change, filters, plugs, flush cooling system).
Here are some pictures of in progress. Thanks to Moto Ghost BMW support for the new tire.

Hi Mark. Does the trunk off option improve the top heaviness significantly?

Yes, a lot! When I got the bike it felt clumsy. I wasn't sure I could handle it. After loosing the trunk it feels like a BIG sportbike. Not sure if it's the 35 pounds up high, or behind the rear axle, or both.

Re: Time for an LT PICTURE THREAD!

Well, guys, just joined this group....purchased a 99 R1100RT that wasn't all that well maintained, so this is how it looked not long ago in my garage. So far the tupperware is still off, but the bike is about ready to get it's skin back on. I've been monitoring several threads about things getting fixed and fine them very helpful. keep up the good work. Looking forward to a newer model some day, but for now....

Re: Time for an LT PICTURE THREAD!

Hello folks!
Brand new K1200LT owner here. So far I am scared as hell
of the weight in this bike and am having a hard time touching the ground
due to my short legs but, not all is lost. I was able to buy a nice low profile
seat and now need to figure it out how to put it in.

This board is wealth of knowledge and I just want to thank you all for helping out
the new comers. Found lots of treads with real good advises so looks like I'll become a regular
around these parks.

So long,

Lacy Passos

Can't help you if you deny seeing the fun in such stupid quotes of your president.
Since he made them, American citizens hopefully know that Belgium is a country and not a city and is by all means not a Hell Hole.
Obviously we do not share the same standard of humor which is deplorable.

One of the best things about this forum, unlike several others I have participated in over the last three decades (I was an early Usenet participant), is that it is almost completely free of politics and personal attacks. Most participants focus on the LT, be it maintaining it, repairing it or riding it. That is very valuable and I for one would like to see it remain that way. There are many avenues available for those who want to talk politics, make snide political remarks, insult politicians, etc. I believe it important that this forum not become like Facebook, twitter, and the like.

If your main goal here was to denigrate president Trump, then leaving is the right decision. If, however, your goal is to learn more about the LT and share your experiences with the LT, then this is probably the absolute best place to be and walking away is your loss.
