NEW K1200LT REPAIR SHOP IN CALIFORNIA

Hi, my name is Ron and I own and operate KbikeRepair.com in Murrieta Ca. I know how hard it is to find a good mechanic to repair these older bikes. My wife Sandra and myself not only ride K1200's we service, repair and upgrade them. Please check out the new website. Look forward to riding and speaking to you all. I have come to specialize in repairing the electronic/hydraulic centerstand (including new seals and motor). Final drive repair and overhaul, Custom LED brake lights, Headlight modulators, custom passenger armrests, And Most major service and repair.
I am a seasoned 30+ year master tech in automotive and have been working on full dress bikes for over 25 of them. I stick to the K1200lt and gt because it allows me to know them inside and out. My primary focus is repairing only the K-1200LT and GT from 2000-2009 model years only.

Thanks.

Ron Williams

Welcome aboard Ron. I am sure there are people out there that will be glad you are in the business on LTs. A good mechanic is hard to find and now that they are out of production even the Dealer Tech experience is starting to fade. Wish you the best of luck in your business venture.

Nice to know someone else is taking an interest in these out of production better than most bikes for those who do not turn their own wrenches. I second what JZ said in the current mechanics probably not being trained in the older K bikes any longer. Welcome aboard.

The k1200lt definitely had some issues that had to be worked out. But out of all the bikes I've ridden over the last 30 years including the Goldwing 1200 1500 and 1600s as well as the Kawasaki Voyager and my personal favorite until this bike the Yamaha Venture Royale both in 1200 and 1300 form. This is by far the smoothest best riding luxury Touring bike I have ever witnessed. Yes because I've been a mechanic on my life I've always serviced my own equipment. But I found my biggest pet peeve was anytime I took a motorcycle into the dealer for a warranty repair it almost certainly came back with broken plastic because the young technicians although very good at crotch rockets didn't either possess the skills or the knowledge to disassemble and reassemble this complex abs plastic that were using. 25 years ago when my friends and the touring Society found out that I was able to do this properly made me a very busy man. I love riding and working on these motorcycles the k1200lt and GT are my two favorite motorcycles and I'm hoping to help people out by giving them confident reliable honest repair on these bikes

When I owned my LT, I always took the plastic off before ever taking it into the local shop for any repair or service for that same reason. It also cut down on the time of the repair and allowed me to get a bit closer to my bike.

Glad to have you aboard Ron. It's good to know were not the only ones who love the LT's. In spite of their issues. But. I've owned a few bikes in my time. And help freinds with their bikes and every model. I don't care what it is has it's individual issues. I love the LT cause you don't see many of them. Best of luck to you.
