Help in Colorado and Oregon
On a 4000 mile trip from the Seattle area to Pueblo and back, my buddy's rear tire showed a white streak of cord more than a half inch wide when we ended up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, coming in from Dubois, Wyoming. Tire looked like a skunk.....spooky!
Think the Steamboat shop was Extreme Motorsports (??). They squeezed him in first thing Saturday morning and put on a rear tire that worked for his Triumph Thunderbird. Unfortunately they also found his front tire was about done, and he had a serious wear problem on one rear brake pad. They didn't have the parts, so we altered our route to go to Denver that same Saturday where Foothills BMW/Triumph said they would try to fit us in.
Fit us they did, and on a Saturday afternoon when they were hopping busy. We left when they left. They really went out of their way to help us. The rear brake and front tire probably would have stranded us for Sunday/Monday in Denver had they not been so accommodating.
Six days later I noticed a little cord showing on my rear tire in Ontario, Oregon when I checked my R 1200 RT before heading off to Hell's Canyon, still 2 days from home. Performance Sports was totally booked up for service that day, but they also stepped up and helped us with some new rubber so we could get back on the road.
A shout out to these three shops who stepped up and helped us when our problem was a big inconvenience to them. They did not have to put themselves out since we were not likely to be return customers, and they did it with smiles on their faces.
