I am just wondering what you guys thought about a independent shop?
I am a Master tech, and have been working on BMW for 13 years.
I live in Riverside, San Deigo Area and have been working out of my house on BMw's for A few years. For some of my Customers i even pick there bikes up and deliver it. I even fixed Dave Shealys bike when he went down on the bat bike. i want to hear what you guys have to say about it.
And if you interested in having me be your own personal tech. half of the dealers cost. with all the tools needed to do most the jobs I love big jobs.
And if you know of anyone to send to me (referals are my friend)would be cool too.

Thanks for the info guys.
Dave

Dave worked at one of the local dealers for some time, and was the one who re-built my LT after the crash in Arkansas. That is the one where the frame was replaced, so the bike was down to nothing on the lift but the engine and tranny, with the rear subframe with side cases hanging there connected by the wiring harness.

The bike was like new after I got it back ($16K repair cost!!!), even though it probably should have been totaled by the insurance company. In all the work I did on that bike over the next 3 years the worst I found was a couple misplaced screws.

So, I can say Dave knows the LT inside out. :D

Dave,
Pm me a number, I'd use you especially after a recommendation from Mr Shealy!! These 12K's are expensive and there come round awfully fast commuting 140 a day. I may need some clutch work in the future it's been 60K or so since the last failure. I'm up in in your neck of the woods now.

I'd love to have the services of an experienced, competent, reliable and honest* BMW master tech available. Almost makes me wish I lived in your part of the world. If David Shealey recommends you, saying you know the LT inside out, then what more could we ask for?

My LT's 12k mile mark is coming up real soon and I'm scared to even ask what it's going to cost. Maybe we can work this into the June 17 tech session at my place! Feel like a trip to Ohio?

* This does not imply that I think anyone who has worked on my bike previously has not had these attributes. I'm merely stating it would be nice to KNOW someone had these qualities already. Batteries not included. End of disclaimer.
