Also posted on the BMWOA website. I figured I might get better response here:

It looks like I may have to work until 4 pm on 6/20. That means I will have to take a late ferry into Bridgeport and slab it the Expo. However, on the way home, I could pop into the 'dacks and take a nice lesiurely ride south. Any suggestions for a route? Any great roads?

5-6 pm on 95 in Bridgeport can be hairy. Maybe I should take the New London ferry instead? Any thoughts?

Anyone from this board going?

Hey Rob,
If you are locked into that time frame, I would say you are right on in thinking about the New London Ferry instead. I think it's slightly more time on the water, but it's a MUCH better drive than 95 through B-port that time of day as it sounds like like you already know.
Rte. 9 is MUCH nicer than 95 or 91.
The section of the state along 9, south of Middletown is really nice, so if you have the chance you may want to take a look at your route and look for a couple roads that parallel 9 between 95 and Middletown, after that it's all highway if you want to make any time.

i work in the power plant next door to the ferry,,i get out of work between 5:30-6:00 when i work days...I-95 in bridgeport is all most done, and the traffic isnt really that bad,,its a nightmare when you get closer to new haven,,i usually take I-95 to the merrit parkway[rt-15] exit 38 off 95 ,,if you follow the parkway all the way it wll dump you onto I-91,,north of all the traffic
