and their sales are slighty down!
... and Yamaha for the first time sold just over a million, up from 839,000.
And BMW? (I'll bet El Jeffe knows) ;)

Where did these numbers come from?? In Motorcycle Consumer News I had read that Honda sold about 250,000, Harley slighty under that and BMW around 13000??? Did 1 misread something???

Motorcycle Industry News June 2006: Honda - 10.3 M, they sold 2.4M alone in the fourth quarter, down 11.2% from the fourth quarter of 2004. Yamaha, 1.07M with operating income up 14%.
Even more interesting Honda has 41% of the motorcycle specific oil sales... which is EXTREMELY profitable as manufacturers and dealers push consumers to use these "special" oils - which of course is another thread! ;)

One is worldwide the other is in America. Honda sells a bizzillion of those little scooters in Japan and other asian areas where gas and road space is limited.
Now that the new GT is out BMW may sell 1000.........;)
