I got back from my long anticipated trip through the Rockies up to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone this past Monday. WOW - what a great trip!
Departed D/FW Saturday May 20th.
D/FW to Santa Fe, NM
Santa Fe to Montrose, CO
Montrose to Vernal, UT
Vernal to Grand Teton National Park WY (Flag Ranch)
Grand Teton to Gardiner, MT (just to say we went to MT ;) ) then Mammoth, WY
Mammoth to Sheridan, WY
Sheridan to Rapid City, SD
Rapid City (Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills) to North Platte, NE
North Platte through KS and onto Oklahoma City, OK
OKC to D/FW
3.600 miles total
The LT performed flawlessly. Sorry to say my riding buddy didn't fare as well. His Honda VFR developed some kind of electrical problem that would shut the fuel injection off at random. His bike problem and closed passes in Yellowstone (snow/ice) caused us to lose a day in our schedule.
The routes on the GPS I mapped out were fantastic. Thanks for everyone's input on this.
I'll be putting together a website on this trip so stay tuned.
