Hey folks, whats the collective wisdom on connecting earbuds into the LT rear speakers? I'd like to be able to use the radio controls to control my earbuds, but I assume I'll need some sort of impedance matching device.... Any thoughts?

Hey Steve,

I have been doing business with Marilyn at www.plugup.com for several years and she has been a vendor at CCR. Excellent products and excellent service. Go to her website and you'll find some excellent solutions.

I didn't do it myself (I don't do tools), but I had a car stereo shop disconnect the rear speakers and connect a line level adaptor which allows me to fade the music to the rear and plug up my earplugs. There are some post in the archives that give more technical detailed explanations.

Total cost, parts, labor and tip $75.

Jim Beard had a good write up with pictures for his Autocomm install. The procedure is the same except he didn't disconnect his rear speakers:
