I would like to start a survey of which outfit provides the best roadside assistance plan with a short description of why the respondent thinks it is the best one.

State Farm Insurance. Add roadside assistance to your policy. Cost is about $1.00 a month. Pays for just about anything you'd need to get you on your way. Don't see a need for anything else.

Mine is included with my progressive. Don't know if its any good.
Also have AAA plus RV, never used it either.
The hope is if I need someone one of them will cover me.

I recently had AAA RV+ bring me some fuel when I miscalculated the headwind effect (some natural, some not :)) in desolate eastern Oregon. No problems, and they called me back to let me know when the guy was coming, and once again to make sure everything was taken care of.

Like Michael, I have Progressive Insurance's Roadside Assistance. But, I'm assuming it'll be a total joke the day/place I need to use it.

Q: The "best" roadside assistance plan?A: Your cell phone, the numbers of at least 5 of your best friends on bmwlt.com, and the BMW MOA Anonymous Book. :)

I've used it twice. Both times the tow bill was paid in full with no problem at all.

FYI: you don't need the AAA RV+ coverage to get gas for the motorcycle. If you have a regular AAA membership and all you need is gas they will bring it to a motorcycle. M/C towing is not covered under the basic membership.

Have AAA Motorcycle Insurance. The Roadside assistance/towing is included in the price of the insurance. Have not had to use the M/C assistance as of yet but hope it is as good as their car assistance.

Good Sam blows. After 30 minutes on the phone with Pakistan or India trying to get them to Pronounce and spell Hesperia,California they basically gave me the finger and left me in the California desert. The biggest problem outside of the language barrier was them trying to locate my position on their satellite systems. After getting a fix on my position they told me my motorcycle assistance program was not effective at my current location. Are you kidding me? They wanted $ 200 to get a flatbed to me. I got the service as part of a motorhome purchase. I kick myself for canceling AAA+.
