I got my July Cycle World in the mail today.

A very nice article on all the new BMWs, titled "German Renaissance". A lot of good said about all of them. The new F800s look good! They did a really strange balancing trick on them, a third connecting rod 180 deg. out of phase, driving a rocking arm in the lower half of the engine!

Also, the new GT got "Best Sport Tourer" in the 10 Best bikes of the year. They said that even if they had gotten the FJR with it's not yet available "AE" push button shift, it probably would not have mattered. :D

The LT lost out to the GW this year.

Hey, the Husky TE510 got Best Dual-Sport, or something like that.

So you guys might as well dump all of your LT's and GT's and...

oh, never mind :D

I'm waiting for the 800 GS alluded to in BMWON June issue ... and a new LT.

In the late 70s Yamaha did the same thing on their 650 twin engine, and their marketing pictures showed a pyramid of stemware on the tank of the bike with the engine running... No vibrations!!!
Of course this robbed the engine of some horsepower so many removed the "offending" moving parts...:p
That shows how little marketing folks knew about bikes and riders!!!:D

On page 12 of the new Cycle World issue David Edwards talks about the "Best of the Rest" and the LT is the Best Luxo Corner-Carver. He has a nice little article on our baby. If anyone want's a "Best Touring Bike" a friend has a loaded 06' GW that he wants to sell, he has $28K in it and the payoff is $22K not a scratch and has less than 1700mi.
